How To Write A Great TestimonialWhy is it important to know how to write a great testimonial? Don’t we usually ask others to write testimonials for us, and then take what ever they create? The problem is that often we end up with testimonials that say nothing other than that our friends like us, blah, blah, blah…pretty weak! The reader expected that. On the other hand, when we give our clients some general guidelines for writing testimonials, it’s like giving a train a track to run on. The result is directed, purposeful motion that arrives at the intended destination. Before you ask, give the train a destination:
With your destination in mind, here are some guidelines to help your clients have a track to run on as they write your testimonial. Suggest that they cover the following:
Give your client an outline of the essentials you would like covered. They will probably thank you for your help, and your credibility as a professional will be heightened in their thinking. Alternately, now and then don’t give any guidelines and get a completely unguided spontaneous testimonial. This will add to the variety. So you asked for, and received a testimonial.
