< Create Your First Book: Part 2The process that leads to the prize.Last week we ended with you copying your e-zine articles into a word processor document. Now you're going to turn that collection of articles into a book. Have you ever seen those drawing classes where the instructor begins by having you draw a circle, and then, one by one, has you add additional shapes to the drawing, and by the time you're done you are amazed at the piece of art work you have created? That's what is going to happen here for you in the next few weeks. You are going to begin with your e-zine articles, and end with your own full blown book. I think you'll find it really exciting. I hope you will forward these articles to friends and business associates, because these are very self-empowering articles that lead you to one of the most valuable personal communication skills that exist--that ability to write a powerful book. Let's go back for a moment to your articles on that word processor document.
But having said this, either method will lead to winning results. Adobe Acrobat and most other PDF creation tools have ways of converting either Web pages or word processor documents into PDF e-books. Now, let's grow that collection of e-zine articles into a valuable book. Your articles are like the artist's circle I mentioned above. Now you're going to add nine layers to those articles that will transform them into your first book. SuddenlyInSite's Nine-Layer Writing GuideTurn a collection of articles into a powerful book. Here are nine keys to the difference between a collection of articles and a truly powerful book: 1) Unity: Unify your book under a single "super-objective". What's that? Your super-objective is the specific new belief or action you want your reader to experience as a result of having read your book. In this article, my super-objective for you is that you apply nine key principles to turn a collection of e-zine articles into a book. See above where I've written this in one clear sentence and placed it where you the reader and I the writer can easily view it. 2) Your Process: Stick to the process you created in the beginning.
So, if you've been following the plan, you already have more than a collection of articles. You have a process that is moving your reader towards an important goal. |
